Elise’s Senior Portraits: A Double Session of Music, Art, and Magic on 30A

Senior year is a time to celebrate all the parts that make you who you are — your passions, your personality, and your unique story. Elise’s senior portraits on 30A were a perfect reflection of that, captured over two beautiful sessions that highlighted two of her greatest loves: music and art.

Session One: Sunset & Guitar on the Beach

Our first session took place right on the beach at sunset, where Elise brought her guitar and played as the golden light wrapped around her. The soft waves, warm glow, and gentle breeze created the perfect backdrop for her to shine. There was something so peaceful and authentic about watching her connect with her music barefoot in the sand — moments full of quiet joy and effortless beauty.

Session Two: Sunrise & Painting at Gulf Place

The second session was a magical early morning at Gulf Place, starting at sunrise. Elise brought her painting supplies to capture her creative spirit in a whole new way. We visited the beach during this session as well, enjoying the soft morning light and peaceful vibes that only sunrise can bring.

A fun little surprise during this shoot? A couple of dolphins swam by close to shore — a beautiful, if unseen, reminder of the magic of 30A mornings. Although they didn’t make it into the photos, their presence added an extra layer of wonder to the day.

I was thrilled to have my daughter, Sarah, join me and photograph Elise during this second session. It was such a special collaboration — two photographers capturing different facets of Elise’s personality and creativity as the day began.
